Dr Lakhveer Manku is Consultant in Geriatric and Acute Medicine at Fairfield General Hospital which is part of the Northern Care Alliance (NCA). She qualified from the University of Manchester in 2001 and underwent her training in the North West. Whilst working as a junior doctor she became passionate about Older People’s Medicine and care. Her main area of clinical work now is Acute Medicine where she remains a champion for delivering comprehensive, high quality care for older Adults at the front door of the hospital.

She is responsible for organising teaching for trainees in Medicine and has also delivered teaching sessions for Registrars on the MSc for Geriatric Medicine.

Outside of clinical work she is also involved in mentoring BAME students from under-privileged areas who hope to study Medicine. This is a cause close to her heart.
